Changes and refunds

You must activate the card within 180 days of purchase. We refund periodcards valid for 90 or 365 days. 1- and 3 - day ticketsand 5 - trips cards are repurchased is not .

Period not activated can be changed within 180 days of purchase.

In the case of an activated period card, you can make claims and request to change the period in our Västtrafik shops up to 24 hours after purchasing the top up. We will not accept requests for refunds or exchanges for cards that are received more than 24 hours after activation, except if we change the traffic more than you could reasonably assume when you bought the card. The change needs to be significant to you to matter in this case. In such cases, the period card can be repurchased and you get back what is remaining on the card.

Pay the correct price

Youths travel cheaper. A youth rate applies for period cards up until your 20th birthday. Request youth rate when you buy your card and when you top it up. Children under the age of 7 travel free of charge when accompanied. Children of 6 years of age and above may travel alone but must have their own ticket or card.

Student discount

If you are a student and over 20 years old, you are allowed to travel with period cards valid for 90 or 30 days with the same price as youths . To take part of the discount, you must present valid ID and student ID at the time of travel. Student ID must be from the Student card or Mecenat and have Västtrafiks , Skånetrafikens or Lokaltrafik logo on .

You must be able to show that you have a valid period card, even if there is no card reader on board.

Västtrafik has working arrangements with other transport companies, SJ for example, whose vehicles do not always have card readers. You must nevertheless be able to show that you have a valid ticket, so keep a card check together with your card. If your period card is not activated, you can ask for a card check on any Västtrafik vehicle or from our customer service. If the period is activated, you can get a card check from any point of sale.
