The card is valid for 72 hours from the moment you activate it. There are two ways you can do this:
1. Hold your card up to the card reader on board the vehicle.
2. When you buy the card. At the time of purchase, you can choose the date you want the card to become valid, which must be within the next 90 days.
You must be able to show that you have a valid card, even if there is no card reader on board.
Västtrafik has working arrangements with other transport companies, such as SJ, Tågab and NSB, whose vehicles do not always have card readers. You must nevertheless be able to show that you have a valid ticket, so keep a card check together with your card. You can get a card check on any Västtrafik vehicle, in our Västtrafik shops or at one of our points of sale.
