Purchase and delivery conditions for Auto top-up
These conditions apply from 12 October 2010.
1. Purpose and application of the conditions
1.1 These conditions apply when you auto top-up your Västtrafikkort and activate the Auto top-up service.
1.2 In order to be able to submit an order, you must be 18 years of age and a registered customer of Västtrafik at the time of ordering.
1.3 The order will be paid for by bank card. Information about all payments made can be found on My Pages.
1.4 These conditions are supplemented by Västtrafik's general terms and conditions of travel.
1.5 Your Västtrafikkort can be auto topped-up for both period and/or pay-as-you-go. The Auto top-up service is only available on the Västtrafik website.
2. Auto top-up a Västtrafikkort
2.1 Auto top-up period card
With the Auto top-up period card service, your Västtrafik card is automatically topped up with a new period when the old one expires. The new period top-up takes place when you hold the card against a card reader. If you do not want to activate a top-up, you can cancel it on board at the vehicle's card reader within 10 minutes by pressing the Å button (“Ångra/Cancel”) and holding your card against the card reader.
The period you want to auto top-up must already be on your card before you can top it up. This can have started, expired or be dormant. For example, if you already have Gothenburg municipality 30 days on your card, this is the period that can be topped up automatically. If you want to auto top-up the card with a different period card, you first need to buy the credit at one of Västtrafik's ticket sales points. Remember that it takes 48 hours from purchase before you can activate Auto top-up via the website.
2.2 Auto top-up pay-as-you-go card
With the Auto top-up pay-as-you-go service, your Västtrafikkort is topped up by SEK 200 every time the balance falls to, or below, SEK 0. The top-up takes place automatically when you hold the card against a card reader.
2.3 Delivery time for Auto top-up
It can take up to seven days from the time of ordering before Auto top-up is activated on your Västtrafik card. Once the service has been activated, your card will be topped up automatically when you hold it against a card reader. If you travel before the service has been activated and the card is auto topped-up, you must be able to show a separate valid ticket for your journey.
2.4 Activation period
Once you have activated Auto top-up period card, you must activate (begin a journey with) the period within 180 days of the date of ordering, otherwise the top-up will become invalid. Refunds will not be given. A pay-as-you-go card that is not used or topped up within three years of it last being used will be cancelled. Any outstanding balance, including deposit, will be forfeit and will not be refunded after this point.
3.1 Auto top-up period card
When you auto top-up a period card, you pay for the first top-up at the time of ordering. Each new top-up is paid in advance seven days before the previous period expires. Two days before the payment is taken, you will receive an sms notifying you that Västtrafik will be drawing against your bank account. Example: The first time the card is auto topped-up, the top-up is valid from 1 to 30 June. On 21 June, you receive an sms and on 23 June the next Auto top-up is paid. Västtrafik will continue to charge the bank card that was used for payment at the time of ordering.
If a card payment cannot be made, Auto top-up will be removed from the Västtrafikkort. You will receive a message via sms and e-mail that Auto top-up has been removed. If you want to reactivate this service, you must re-order it from the Västtrafik website.
3.2 Auto top-up pay-as-you-go card
When you activate Auto top-up pay-as-you-go, you pay SEK 200 at the time of ordering. The card is topped up when the balance of your Västtrafik card falls to, or below, SEK 0. Future payments are made in arrears. You will receive an sms when your Västtrafik card is auto topped-up. Payment will be taken around 2-4 days later. Funds will be taken from the bank card used for the initial payment. You will receive notification by e-mail that the payment has been made.
If the card payment cannot be made, Auto top-up will be removed from the Västtrafik card. You will receive a message via sms and e-mail that Auto top-up has been removed and a reminder to ensure payment can be made. Västtrafik will attempt to take the payment again on the date indicated in the message. If payment still cannot be taken, the matter will be referred to debt collection and charges may be applied for reminders and debt collection. If you want to reactivate the Auto top-up pay-as-you-go service, you must re-order it from the Västtrafik website. You will be unable to re-order if you owe any money to Västtrafik.
3.3 Payment methods
You can pay using VISA or MasterCard. You cannot use Västtrafik coupons as part payment when you auto top-up your card.
All purchases of Västtrafik cards and top-ups made on the Västtrafik website are carried out through a payment exchange. We have a partnership with DIBS Payment Services AB (http://www.dibs.se/), which uses an encrypted connection to your bank to check that your bank card is valid for your purchase. You therefore do not provide any sensitive payment card details to Västtrafik. DIBS guarantees compliance with the security requirements stipulated by the banks, which means that your payment will be processed securely.
An order is deemed to have been received when you receive confirmation of the order. You will receive confirmation directly on My Pages on Västtrafik's website when you order. The confirmation is your receipt for your purchase. Västtrafik will also send confirmation to the e-mail address you provided when ordering.
5.1 Cancellation and receipt
You can cancel Auto top-up in the My Pages section of the Västtrafik website. You will receive a receipt by e-mail. In the event of cancellation, Auto top-up will be removed from the Västtrafik card. If you want to reactivate this service, you must re-order it from the Västtrafik website.
5.2 Cancellation of Auto top-up period card
Cancellation of Auto top-up period card must be made no later than 10 days before the current validity period expires in order to prevent the next payment being taken.
5.3 Cancellation of Auto top-up pay-as-you-go card
Cancellation of Auto top-up pay-as-you-go takes up to seven days from the date of cancellation. If the account is auto topped-up during this period, payment shall be made in accordance with these conditions.
6. Cooling-off period, refunds and changes
The statutory cooling-off period, pursuant to the Swedish Distance and Home Selling Act (2005:59) does not apply to agreements relating to transport. There is consequently no cooling-off period for the purchase of the Auto top-up service for Västtrafik cards. However, you can cancel future auto top-ups in accordance with point 5 above. There will be no refunds or changes with regard to the purchase of credit via Auto top-up.
7.1 When you complete a purchase, you agree that Västtrafik, in its capacity as the party responsible for personal data, may record and process the information you provide when making an order. Information about how Västtrafik processes your personal information can be found here (Swedish Personal Data Act). Västtrafik processes your personal information in accordance with the Swedish Data Protection Act (1998:204).
7.2 You agree to notify Västtrafik immediately of any change to your mobile phone number or bank card number and CCV/CVC code (as a result of the old one expiring or you switching banks, for example).
7.3 You are responsible for ensuring that notification via sms and e-mail is possible and you are responsible for providing the correct mobile phone number and e-mail address.
7.4 Västtrafik shall be entitled to terminate Auto top-up where:
- Payment from your bank card is not approved or allowed in any individual instance.
- You are in breach of Västtrafik's purchase conditions or Västtrafik's general terms and conditions of travel.
- You misuse Auto top-up.
- The Auto top-up service is altered or withdrawn.
7.5 You can see the current prices for the different top-ups here. Västtrafik reserves the right to amend these conditions to a reasonable extent, as a result of changes to the content of the service for example.
7.6 Västtrafik archives all previous versions of these conditions. If you want to know which version was in force at a particular point in time, please write to Västtrafik AB, Box 123, SE-541 23 Skövde, Sweden or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org stating the date you require and we will send the Västtrafik conditions to you.
7.7 Disputes arising from these conditions shall be resolved in accordance with the laws of Sweden and at a Swedish general court. In the event of a dispute with a private individual, it is Västtrafik's policy to follow the recommendations of the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN).
