Västtrafik is owned by the inhabitants of Western Sweden

Tram in GöteborgVästtrafik is Sweden's second largest public transport company. 50% of the company is owned by the Västra Götaland county and 50% by the 49 municipalities of Västra Götaland.

Västtrafik gives you access to 1,600 vehicles in the form of buses, trains, trams, taxis and ferries. You can use any of our 22,000 stops, from Strömstad in the north-west to Kinna in the south-east. On average, we drive around 240,000 km a day, a distance equivalent to travelling six times around the world. Every day, more than half a million journeys are undertaken with Västtrafik.
