So how do you get the money?

On the travel guarantee form, you can choose how you want your reimbursement for taxi or private vehicle to be paid. We can pay the amount into your bank or personal account, or send a money order to the address specified (Västtrafik never refunds any fees charged by Svensk Kassaservice, the Swedish Cashier Service).

If you would rather receive the reimbursement in the form of a voucher instead of cash, we will pay you a further 20 percent on top of the reimbursement amount, making the maximum payment SEK 360. The vouchers can be used to buy Västtrafik tickets.

Am I entitled to compensation for consequential costs?

No, Västtrafik does not pay compensation for consequential costs, including new train tickets, parking fees for private vehicles or the cost of missed medical appointments.

How long will I have to wait for compensation?

Normally, we will contact you within two weeks of receiving your claim. We always do our best, but in extreme situations involving numerous travel guarantee claims it may take slightly longer.
