New working methods for ticket inspections

Distance, increased hand hygiene and shorter customer meetings. The ticket inspectors have tested new working methods in dialogue with the passengers in public transport. Now the test phase is over and new routines are in place.

The new routines include keeping meetings with the traveler as short as possible and being extra careful with hand hygiene, for example by using hand sanitizer often and cleaning the equipment. The occupancy rate of the vehicles will also be taken into account.

New function in the app Västtrafik To Go

Now there is a new function in the app Västtrafik To Go which shows time as an alternative to bus or tram for shorter distances. If we reduce the short trips, we can also reduce congestion on board and create more space for those who really need to travel with us.

FAQ

We are monitoring developments closely and act on the basis of the information and guidelines that come from the Public Health Agency of Sweden and other responsible authorities.

We urge our travellers not to travel with us if you are sick. If you are in a risk group, that is, if you have an underlying disease or are over 70 years old, you should also avoid public transport.

We encourage you to consider whether you can refrain from a trip, for example by working from home. We are also encouraging people to bike and walk if possible.

Västtrafik follow the Swedish Public Health Agency's recommendations and there are no requirements for oral protection for public places, this also includes public transport. The authority instead advocates keeping a distance in public transport or avoiding travel if possible. If you as a traveler feel safer with a mouth guard, you must of course have it

As long as public transport is in service, we need to conduct ticket inspection. To make you feel safe, ticket inspectors will work in a new way. They move in smaller groups. It is enough that you show the ticket at an arm's length or hold up the card against the card reader, so that the inspector sees it. The ticket inspectors never touch your ticket.

In order to take care of yourself and all other travellers who need to travel with our service vehicles, please follow the recommendations of the Public Health Agency of Sweden. It is about following the advice that Vårdguiden 1177 provides to those who need healthcare travel taxi. It is also a matter of thinking carefully about whether you should use transportation services when you have an infection, or belong to one of the risk groups.

We are doing our best to work with our transport companies to create as safe a travel as possible during the current situation. If you have any questions about the particular public transport, we refer you to Demand-Responsive Transport’s Customer Service: 020-919090 (tone dialing 4) or synpunkt.anrop@vasttrafik.se

Västtrafik has introduced so-called individual travel for healthcare travel and travel services. This means that each traveller orders their trip as usual but travels alone in the vehicle. This decision will continue to not affect day and care travel, nor school taxis or Ronden. Travellers to day and care activities and travellers who are travelling to schools should only travel when they are symptom-free.

At the moment it is not possible to book a healthcare trip or a travel service in the front seat. Closing the front seat is not something that the Public Health Agency of Sweden recommends at present, this measure has been taken to reduce the anxiety that many drivers feel so they feel safe and can continue to do their important work. Travelers who have been given permission to travel in the front seat will be offered to travel in the back seat. If the traveller declines, the trip cannot be booked under the current situation. Trips for students who normally travel in the front seat will be rescheduled for the time being so that the student is instead placed in the back seat. We are working as quickly as we can to reschedule the trips. This applies until further notice.

Västtrafik has introduced so-called individual travel in Commuter Traffic, Flex Traffic and demand-responsive routes, in which passenger vehicles are used. This is to reduce the spread of the virus. We have already switched off the possibility of travelling in the front seat of the vehicle.

This means that each traveller orders their trip as usual but travels alone in the vehicle. Individual travel still means that I can book for several people at the same time. A travelling party of three people will be placed in the rear seat of a vehicle. If there are four people in the travelling party, an additional passenger car will be booked or another type of vehicle.

Our vehicles, travel centres, stations and stops are cleaned as usual, which means that they are cleaned every day.

As a traveller, you may need to get on buses and trams through the doors in the middle or at the back. We have given our transport companies the opportunity to take such measures in order to reduce the anxiety that many drivers feel, so that they feel safe and can continue to do their important work.

Closing the front door is not something that the Public Health Agency of Sweden recommends at present, but we take drivers' concerns seriously.
