Our most important recommendations

  • Please refrain from travelling with public transport if you are sick or experiencing covid-19 symptoms such as fever and coughing.
  • Please consider walking or cycling a part of your journey whenever possible. It's benificial for your health and helps avoid overcrowding on vehicles.
  • If you want to avoid overcrowded vehicles you can plan your journey here on vasttrafik.se or in our app Västtrafik To Go. When searching for a specific journey you will see how crowded a departure usually is. If possible, please avoid travelling during rush hour in the morning and afternoon.

Q&A

We are monitoring the developments closely and act on the basis of the information and guidelines that come from the Public Health Agency of Sweden and other authorities.

As of September 29, there is no general advice from the Public Health Agency of Sweden to keep a distance. We still encourage everyone to be considerate for each other when traveling with us.

Throughout the pandemic, we have operated extra traffic. We are currently operating more traffic than ever before and we will continue to reinforce traffic in peak hours throughout the autumn. During the pandemic, we have launched a new feature in our app Västtrafik To Go that shows which lines usually have many travelers. This way you can easily plan your trip to avoid congestion.

When the national restrictions are lifted on September 29 we will continue opening up front doors on buses and trams. The opening of the front doors will be implemented throughout October.

Our vehicles, travel centres, stations and stops are cleaned as usual, which means that they are cleaned every day.

Do not travel with us if you are sick or experiencing covid-19 symptoms.

We also encourage you to cycle and walk if possible.

Now we begin the road back to a normal position and start travelling together again. All changes take place based on dialogue with Smittskydd Västra Götaland at the pace it is deemed reasonable given the circumstances. Our goal is that everyone who feels safe going out into society should have the opportunity to travel in accordance with what applies to them in the different travel types.
