Senior ticket
The municipalities in Region Västra Götaland and Kungsbacka offer their registered residents a senior ticket. With the senior ticket, you can travel for free on public transport in the zone to which your municipality belongs.
Starting in the autumn of 2025, we will gradually launch the option to have the senior ticket in the Västtrafik To Go app.
Offer from your municipality
It is each individual municipality that decides whether to offer senior tickets. Your municipality pays for your journeys with the ticket.
Validity of the senior ticket
Municipalities can choose between three different age conditions: 65, 70 or 75 years. The validity of the senior ticket differs between municipalities.
Order your senior ticket in the app or on a card
- The senior ticket in the app will be launched in stages starting in autumn 2025. Municipalities in question
- We will send you order information in connection with you meeting the conditions for receiving a senior ticket.
- How you order your senior ticket differs depending on whether you want it in our Västtrafik To Go app or on a Västtrafik card.
