
Alingsås

Alingsås is known for its café culture and there is coffee for all tastes. Not far from the station is also Alingsås Kulturhus. There is both an art gallery with contemporary exhibitions and a museum with collections about the history of the Alingsås. For those interested in skates, there is also a 2,000 square meter skate park in Alingsås and for those who want to take it a little easier, the city park Plantaget is a perfect place.

Brobacka Nature Reserve
Stop: Brobacka Nature Reserve.
Brobacka Nature Reserve is home to one of Sweden's most impressive pothole fields from the ice sheet. Of the 40 or so pots, the largest is 18 meters in diameter. Throughout the reserve there is a hiking trail with a beautiful viewing platform. Across the lake is Brudsängen with the "eye of the needle" – a fabled rock formation and rock shelf.

Anten-Gräfsnäs railway
Stop: Anten.
During the summer, the old trains run on the Anten-Gräfsnäs Railway. The train is powered by almost 100-year-old steam locomotives and the 12-kilometer stretch offers a scenic environment overlooking Lake Anten. In the station area there is a museum, café, railway park and station house. If you travel by train to Gräfsnäs, you can hop on bus 560 there again.

Gräfsnäs Castle ruins and park
Stop: Höglunda
The castle in Gräfsnäsparken was built in the 1550s. After being ravaged by fire several times, it has fallen into disrepair and today a ruin remains – but with an interesting history. The park offers large grassy areas for picnics and a beach with swimming opportunities. There is also a restaurant and a local history museum. Keep an eye out for various events, such as knightly games and vintage car meetups.

Old Gas Station "Gammelmacken"
Stop: Sollebrunn bus station
In Sollebrunn there is a gas station from the 50s preserved. Here you can experience the history of a gas station with all that it entails of old utility items and how the gasoline trade used to be. The gas station can be visited and viewed from the outside at any time, but in order to enter, you need to call and book an appointment for viewing.
