An offer from your municipality
It is your municipality that decides whether to offer a senior ticket and from what age (65, 70 or 75 years). The municipality pays for your travel with the senior ticket.
Ordering
The senior ticket can usually be ordered up to three months before you meet the municipality's age requirement, but you cannot start travelling with it until you have reached the age requirement. When a municipality's senior offer changes and you are covered by the new terms, you can order once you have received postal information from Västtrafik. This is sent out a few weeks before the new terms apply.
If you are registered in a municipality that offers a senior ticket, you will receive order information a few weeks before you meet the municipality's age requirements.

Area: Zone C
Validity: Around the clock
Lines: All Västtrafik's lines, Flex lines and Commuter traffic. On trains, the senior ticket is valid for travel on Västtåg and Vy trains.
The senior ticket is not valid for travel with Flextrafik, Koster boats, special transport services or other traffic than what is stated above (it is not valid on SJ trains, for example).
To bring along on the trip
The senior ticket is personal and at a ticket inspection you must be able to show identification. If you travel with vehicles that do not have Västtrafik's card reader, you need to bring a certificate of validity. You can get this at our sales outlets and on board most of our vehicles.
