Still incredibly affordable to buy a 30-day season ticket
It’s been a fantastic initiative but there isn’t much time left before the government subsidy on the 30-day season ticket comes to an end. So make the most of it – you can still buy your pass at half price up to and including 2 December.
The discount applies whether you buy your ticket in the Västtrafik To Go app or load it onto a Västtrafik card.
- Season ticket 30 days : zones A, B, C, AB, BC and ABC
- Zone ABC Leisure card 30 days
- Extra season ticket 30 days (inter-regional travel)
- Mini season ticket 30 days
Enjoy all the usual season ticket benefits
As always, a 30-day season ticket gives you unlimited travel within your valid zones for one month.
If you're an adult and purchase your ticket in Västtrafik To Go, you can also bring up to three young people under the age of 20 with you free of charge. Plus, you can lend your ticket to someone else if you wish. You can choose to activate your 30-day season ticket immediately, or wait up to 30 days before activating it.
How much could you save by leaving the car at home?
You can find out quickly and easily with our Price Calculator. It compares the monthly cost of driving your own car with the cost of travelling by public transport. Since transportation is one of the largest household expenses in Sweden, the savings could be significant.

Welcome aboard public transport, everyone!
More than twice as many people have purchased a 30-day season ticket compared with the same month last year, and many of them are completely new passengers. That’s fantastic, because the more of us who travel together, the better it is for the climate, the air quality in our cities, and congestion on our roads. So, congratulations to all of us – and welcome aboard! If you're new to public transport, here’s some useful information to help you get started.
Frequently asked questions
No, the new price will automatically appear in our payment systems from 1 July.
Yes. If you are registered as a resident of Gothenburg and purchase an adult season ticket for Zone A, you will continue to receive the subsidy from the City of Gothenburg. The subsidy applies to 30-day, 90-day and 365-day season tickets.
We understand that many people have interpreted it that way. The half-price discount on 30-day season tickets funded through a government subsidy that ends on 2 December. That is why 2 December is also the last day you can buy a ticket at the discounted price. The good news is that you can still travel at half price until the end of the year, as the ticket remains valid for 30 days after purchase.
