New recommendations for public transport

In order to comply with the public health authorities' new recommendations, Västtrafik will have informants out at a number of stops in Gothenburg starting tomorrow. The task of the informants is to inform travelers about the new recommendations and to ensure that not too many travelers get on board at the same time so that congestion occurs. We ask travelers to keep their distance to each other to the extent possible and to consider whether to abandon a trip, for example, by working from home. It can also mean traveling at a different time than expected, such as outside rush hour. We also encourage cycling and walking if possible.

From the 18 of March passengers may enter the buses and trams at the middle or back of the vehicles. This is a possibility given to our partner companies in order to help drivers who are worried about the coronavirus. It is important that they can continue to perform their important work. Closing the front door is not a recommendation from the Public Health Agency of Sweden, but we do take our drivers concerns seriously.

Passengers still need to show their tickets. If it is not possible to show your ticket in the front of the bus, you need to buy a ticket in our app Västtrafik To Go, at a one of our ticket offices or at any of our sales points.
